Day 1: Dushanbe
You will be met by our guide at the airport and then you will be taken to the capital city of Tajikistan – Dushanbe. During your sightseeing tour you will visit Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. Then we will go to National Park, where the Ministry of Inner Affairs is located. Here you will also have a chance to see the biggest National Flag in the world. It is 165 meters high, 30 meters wide, 60 meters long. Then you will get familiarized with the history of Tajikistan in Central Museum. After lunch you will visit Gurminj Museum, where you will learn about the traditional musical instruments. The final destination will be Asian Bazaar. It is a very popular place where you can find different goods. Today you will explore the main attraction of Dushanbe and you will get acquainted with the culture of Tajik people. After an excursion you will check into the hotel.
Day 2: Dushanbe – Norak – Kalai Khum
Today we will head to Kalai Khum village. You will see so-called Tajik Sea – Norak water reservoir. Then we will overcome Shuraba pass (2267m) and continue driving along the Pyanj River, which is considered the natural border with Afghanistan. You will be amazed by the magnificence of the Pamir Mountains. Centuries ago Pamir served as inspiration for great explorers such as Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. Many travelers called it “the ocean of white and blue mountains”. Upon arrival at the homestay, you will have a dinner and then you will have free time to relax.
Day 3: Kalai Khum – Khorog
After breakfast we will start driving to the small city of Khorog. The Rocky Mountains surround the city from all sides. Khorog was founded in the place, where Shokhdara River and Ghund River flow into Pyanj River. Today you will also meet Pamir people. They differ from the Tajik people by some anthropological features. A high percent of Pamir people have blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes. To emphasize Pamir Mountains are the highest mountains in the world with human population after the Himalayas in Tibet. You will have a dinner in a local restaurant and then you will be taken to a guesthouse.
Day 4: Khorog – Yashil Kul Lake – Bulunkul Lake – Murgab
Today you will discover the most wonderful lakes of the Pamir - Yashil Kul and Bulunkul (Blue lakes). They are located in the Murgab district an altitude of 3700 meters above sea level. The water in Burunkul has unique violet and dark-blue tint. The lake is a home for different species of fish. Furthermore, in this area you can see yaks. It is domestic animal, similar to cow and sheep. Besides giving milk and meat products they are used as a beast of burden. On the way you will also overcome the picturesque Koitezak pass (4271m a.s.l.). You will have dinner and an overnight stay in a guesthouse.
Day 5: Murgab – Kyzyl Art
In the morning the transfer will take you to the border with Kyrgyzstan.
